Transportation systems are more than just getting from Point A to B. They are at the heart of a community’s livability. In District 7, too many residents know the frustration of the incomplete patchwork of sidewalks, bus routes, and other flexible transportation options.

Whether you're a student heading to class, a senior visiting the doctor, or a parent commuting to work, our transportation infrastructure should support—not hinder—your journey.

It’s more than just roads. It’s about access, safety, and equity across our communities. That’s why I’m committed to ensuring King County supports all corners of District 7 with transportation solutions that truly connect us. Because when we move better, we live better.

To support the livability of our region, I am focusing on several transportation initiatives.

  1. Complete Sidewalk Networks – We must finish and then maintain sidewalks near schools, transit stops, and community centers.

  2. Improve Bus Service for All Residents – We can run buses more often on existing routes, expand service in historically underserved neighborhoods, and expand on-demand transit like the Metro Flex on-demand van service which would be even better improved by an online reservation system.

  3. Safe Routes to School – By improving crosswalks, street lighting, and signage, we will better protect students walking or biking.

  4. Senior Mobility Programs – We must expand the Metro Flex on-demand van shuttle to provide a reliable option for seniors seeking healthcare and connection with the broader community.

  5. Co-design Transportation Systems Through Community Engagement – In order to maximize the use of our resources, I commit to involving all residents in planning decisions to ensure solutions reflect real needs.

Transportation is about how we live, not just how we drive. I will fight for the infrastructure that makes sure every resident—regardless of age or ability—can move safely, affordably, and efficiently.
